Wisdom Teeth Extractions & Oral Surgery

We are happy to announce that we now offer 3 types of oral surgery for children and adults! These surgeries include wisdom teeth extractions, orthodontics exposures and implant placements. All of our procedures are performed in an office setting with an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Douglas Reid DMD.  Depending upon the procedure, comfort level of the patient and dentist recommendations most procedures are carried out with either inhaled sedation (Nitrous Oxide) or in office IV sedation. Our office is equipped with a state-of-the-art cone beam technology, which shows layers of tissue, bone and nerves for the utmost accuracy. We accept all private insurance as well as Medicaid for these procedures.

Douglas Reid DMD, MD was born and raised in Bellingham, WA. He attended Brigham Young University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience. Dr Reid completed both Dental School and a General Practice Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Subsequently, Dr. Reid attended the University of Nebraska College of Medicine where he earned his Medical Degree and completed a 5 year surgical residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. During his time in Nebraska Dr. Reid underwent extensive training in Anesthesia in addition to the rigorous surgical residency. Dr. Reid has spent the past 6 years in private practice based in Santa Fe, prior to joining the Smiles for Kids team the Spring of 2019.
